Legislative District 7 is a large district encompassing four townships and one village.  There are many residences in the district and many residents who work outside the district and even outside this county.  Most of the people appreciate the rural nature of this area and live here because of it.  To that end it is important to keep businesses viable in the area that enhance this rural atmosphere, such as agricultural, small family run businesses and outdoor recreational.  There are currently many challenges to these industries that I know first hand.  From ever increasing real property taxes to escalating fuel prices to environmental concerns and difficulty in generating income. I am keenly aware of how these factors impact the major economic activities in our district.   The businesses in this area are dealing with similar challenges. I see it as my job to keep at least the county government from piling on to these costs.  I have consistently voted against what I consider to be unreasonable increases in taxes of all kinds while still delivering the services our citizens need.

Our county needs a vision of where we need to be in five, ten, or twenty years with our income and expenses. In order to meet the needs of our people without taxing them into leaving our area we need a plan for the future. The current administration has a plan for the future.  Unfortunately, the current legislature has been working overtime to unravel that plan.  The partisan politics of the past need to give way to a more inclusive way of governing.  I am excited after meeting the people who have assembled to push forward the agenda developed by betterchautauqua.com    What is needed is a workable majority of legislators who put the will of the people ahead of any party or partisan interest. There is much to accomplish.  I want to be a part of it.  This is why I wish to represent you in Mayville.  We have all the tools we need.  I just need your support.
